The Old Capitol City family has expanded!  Our new B-Team, the Rockstars, are having their debut bout this weekend, May 26th, against the Cedar Valley Push-Up Brawlers.  The Rockstars are a team of up-and-coming rookies, as well as the strong guidance of several veteran skaters.  The Rockstars will be bouting several times this season, both on their own, and as a part of double-headers with the WFTDA charter team, the OCC All-Stars.

This weekend’s bout will be exciting and a chance to see the fresh faces of OCCRG.  The Cedar Valley Push-Up Brawlers are a strong team with a whole year of bouting under their belts, as well as an aspiring WFTDA apprentice team.  They are serious about the game and are strong and smart.  The OCC rookies will have their work cut out for them as they face off against another league for the first time.

We are so thrilled to see our team expand and grow.  And just in case you missed it: here’s footage from the first ever OCCRG bout.  Everyone has to start somewhere, so come out and show some love!  We couldn’t be more proud of our new skaters.

As always, the bout will be at the Coralville Marriott Convention Center. Doors open at 6:15 and the action starts at 7pm. Purchase tickets in advance at either New Pioneer Co-op locations or Crossroads Tattoo for $10, as well as online through Brown Paper Tickets. Admission is $13 day of, with kids 10 and under free! Come in your worst 80′s prom outfit for our half-time contest! There will also be a raffle and a bunch of awesome, skater-made merchandise. Join the skaters for drinks down the street at Tailgators after the bout.
